      About me

I am a warm and caring person who will treat you with respect and  kindness.  I am fully qualified as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which allows me to adapt the style of therapy that is appropriate for you. My aim is to encourage a deeper sense of self-awareness whilst focusing on the individual’s whole experience of life.

I am experienced in working with Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), this teaches a variety of skills to help individuals live in ways consistent with their values, it also includes teaching Mindfulness skills all of which can help develop psychological flexibility.

I have a wealth of life experience and my background is in education, health and social care.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework which underpins my practice as a therapist. This means that you can be reassured that I practice in an ethical manner.

How can I help you?

I can help support you to resolve the challenges you face and improve your emotional well-being. Maybe you are feeling stressed, or living with constant anxiety and your head is full of worries or you are always thinking about the past and/or the future. I can help you develop strategies to cope with your busy mind. You may feel depressed, you may be grieving or your relationship might be coming to an end. I can support you through this difficult time so you can discover a sense of self that feels right for where you are now.

It might be that you want to achieve a healthier life-work balance, I can support you to explore your options, this may include looking within yourself and understanding your motivations for change, it may highlight characteristics that you are unaware of. Whatever brings you to counselling, I am confident I can support you.

Inclusive

I welcome everyone to my practice and embrace difference. I am non-judgemental and you will be fully valued, understood and respected for who you are because everyone has differences. This underpins my practice and enables us to establish an open and trusting working relationship which I consider key for the counselling process to be effective.

Specialism

I have many years working and supporting children and adults who have hidden disabilities. I am a Lipspeaker and Cued Speech Transliterator continuing to  support Deaf people in a variety of settings.

I have substantial experience of working with children, young people and older people with a range of neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. This has given me an in depth understanding about the many challenges faced day to day. I can offer many positive strategies that will support and encourage.
